Do I have to buy a car from you to sell you mine?

The paperwork and check take another 15 to 30, depending on whether there’s a loan payoff to coordinate. If you’ve already submitted the online appraisal or spoken to our Acquisition Manager beforehand, the in-person visit goes even faster.

Do you buy older cars or cars with high mileage?

Yes. We routinely acquire vehicles 10+ model years old and with 100,000+ miles, as long as the title is clean and the vehicle runs. Higher-mileage cars may be valued closer to wholesale rather than retail, but we’ll always give you a real, written number — not a vague “we’d have to see it” answer over the phone.

What documents do I need to bring?

The title (if you have it — we can work with you if you don’t), your current registration, your driver’s license, and if you have a loan, your most recent loan statement or the lender’s contact info. If your car is on a lease, bring the lease agreement. That’s everything.

Will I be pressured to buy something while I’m there?

It depends on California’s trade-in tax credit. When you trade a car in toward a new purchase, the sales tax on your new vehicle is reduced by the value of your trade — which can effectively boost the trade value by hundreds or thousands of dollars. We’ll always show you both numbers (sell vs. trade) side by side so you can compare apples to apples and pick whichever option puts more money in your pocket.
